Minions The Rise of Gru

Set in the 1970s, this prequel explores young Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) as he schemes to join the notorious villain team, the Vicious 6. With help from the beloved Minions—including a new one named Otto—Gru builds his first lair, engineers his first gadgets, and proves his potential, only to be betrayed and forced on the run. Hijinks ensue as the Minions train in kung fu to rescue him, backed by martial arts master voiced by Michelle Yeoh. Full of slapstick action, heart, and nostalgic charm, the movie blends boisterous Mayhem with early villain ambition and franchise callbacks.
